Pleora’s NBASE-T Video Interface Earns Vision Systems Design 2017 Innovators Award

Pleora Technologies, the world’s leading supplier of high-performance video interfaces, today announced that its iPORT™ NTx-NBT Embedded Video Interface has been recognized in the Vision Systems Design 2017 Innovator Awards Program. The judging panel, consisting of experts from system integrator and end-user companies, awarded Pleora with silver in the annual innovation program.

Pleora is the first company to develop and ship NBASE-T products for the vision industry. The iPORT NTx-NBT hardware provides a cost-effective upgrade path for imaging device designers by supporting faster 2.5 and 5 Gbps transfer of GigE Vision-compliant images over low-cost Cat5e cabling. Leading X-ray flat panel detector (FPD) and camera manufacturers are designing Pleora’s GigE Vision over NBASE-T video interface into advanced imaging devices for medical and machine vision applications.

“This competitive, unbiased program celebrates the most innovative products and services in the vision and image processing industry,” said Vision Systems Design Group Publisher Alan Bergstein. “Pleora’s latest video interface brings the proven connectivity and cost benefits of NBASE-T technology to the imaging market. On behalf of the Vision Systems Design Innovator Awards, I congratulate Pleora Technologies on their award.”

NBASE-T technology is a natural evolution for high-performance imaging thanks to its increased bandwidth, low-cost cabling, and compatibility with existing GigE Vision software. This is the latest vision industry award for NBASE-T, with the technology earning an inVision Top Innovation 2017 award.

“We’re seeing growing demand for our NBASE-T interface as manufacturers seek ways to cost-effectively meet increasing bandwidth demands in real-time imaging applications,” said Harry Page, president, Pleora Technologies. “This latest industry recognition for our NBASE-T embedded interface is further proof of the performance, design, and cost benefits that NBASE-T technology brings to the imaging market.”
