Pleora Showcasing NBASE-T and USB 3.0 Technologies at UK Machine Vision Conference

Pleora Technologies, the world’s leading supplier of high-performance video interfaces, will be showcasing its video interface products for high-bandwidth imaging applications at the UKIVA Machine Vision Conference and Exhibition, taking place April 27th, 2017 in Milton Keynes, UK.

“With our latest video interface products, manufacturers designing new vision systems or upgrading existing infrastructure can meet emerging bandwidth demands and challenging cost requirements with an easy-to-integrate solution that significantly reduces design time, cost, and risk,” said Harry Page, president, Pleora Technologies.

Pleora’s iPORT™ NTx-NBT Embedded Video Interface is the first NBASE-T product for the vision industry. The embedded hardware provides a cost-effective upgrade path for imaging device designers by supporting faster 2.5 and 5 Gbps transfer of GigE Vision-compliant images over low-cost Cat5e cabling.

Leading X-ray flat panel detector (FPD) and camera manufacturers are designing Pleora’s GigE Vision over NBASE-T video interface into advanced imaging devices for medical and machine vision applications. The technology has been recognized with a Vision Systems Design 2017 Innovator Awards and inVision’s Top Innovation 2017 award. James Falconer, senior applications engineer with Pleora, will be introducing NBASE-T as a new interface for the imaging market with a presentation at 2:30 p.m. as part of the Camera Technology session.

The company will also be highlighting its USB3 Vision interfaces, including external frame grabbers and embedded hardware, which deliver cost and design flexibility advantages by transporting high-bandwidth imaging and video data over a USB 3.0 cable. Data is transmitted directly to a standard USB 3.0 port, allowing designers to reduce system size, cost, and power consumption by using smaller form factor computing platforms, such as laptops, embedded computers, and single-board computers.

The company’s USB3 Vision products have been designed into machine vision, medical imaging, and scientific measurement applications. The Crowley Company, a world-leader in digital and analog imaging technologies and conversion services, will be showcasing new high-resolution machine vision cameras that integrate Pleora’s USB 3.0 interface at the UKIVA Machine Vision Conference.

The MACHCAM 71MP Machine Vision Camera is a compact solution – the case measures only 83x83x63.5 mm— that produces clear images with the highest resolutions available for numerous industry applications, from packaging and inspection to law enforcement and archival scanning. The MACHCAM is available in monochrome (MACHCAM 71M) and color (MACHCAM 71C) models.
