Pleora Showcases New Technologies and Discusses Transportation Imaging Trends at VISION 2014

Pleora Technologies, the world’s leading supplier of high-performance video interfaces, will be showcasing its latest products and is a featured presenter at the upcoming VISION 2014 show in Stuttgart, Germany from November 4-6. Held every two years, VISION is the world’s leading machine vision trade fair.

Live Technical Demonstrations

Pleora will be showcasing its comprehensive portfolio of external frame grabbers and embedded video interface hardware for video delivery over Gigabit Ethernet (GigE), 10 GigE, USB 3.0, and IEEE 802.11 wireless at VISION 2014. Visit Pleora during the exhibition at Hall 1-C42.

Attendees will be able to view a live demonstration of the iPORT CL-U3 External Frame Grabber. The external frame grabber converts video from Camera Link Base and Medium cameras into uncompressed USB3 Vision-compliant video that is transmitted over a USB 3.0 cable directly to a small form factor computing platform, including laptops, embedded systems, and tablets. By leveraging the plug-and-play cabling and ubiquitous computing support of USB3 Vision, the iPORT CL-U3 brings ease-of-use and cost advantages to a widening range of high-performance microscopy, medical, military, and machine vision applications.

The company is also demonstrating a new transcoding gateway appliance that simplifies the design of multi-screen imaging systems. With the appliance, video from up to four GigE Vision® or USB3 Vision cameras is automatically converted into H.264-compressed video that can be transmitted via the RTSP protocol over a wired or wireless connection to a playback device, including embedded PCs, tablets, and smartphones.

Pleora Presenting on Transportation Imaging Trends

Pleora has been selected to present during VISION 2014’s “Industrial VISION Days” forum. John Phillips, Senior Manager of Product Management with Pleora, will be discussing imaging technology trends for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) on Tuesday, November 4 at 3:30 p.m. in Hall 1, Booth A75, Stage 1.

During this session, Mr. Phillips will be discussing the design and performance advantages of GigE video in free-flow tolling and railway inspection applications. He will also introduce new technologies for transportation imaging systems, including GigE Vision over wireless and transcoding, which can simplify the installation, maintenance, and usability of fully networked real-time video applications.
