iPORT GEV-PCIe Frame Grabber
High-performance GigE Vision image acquisition with low CPU utilization
Pleora’s iPORT GEV-PCIe Frame Grabber provides a high-performance interface for acquiring image and data streams from GigE Vision cameras directly into host memory over PCIe. Hardware-based image reception delivers low, predictable latency while reducing CPU utilization and freeing processing resources for application-specific tasks.
With a built-in DMA engine, the iPORT GEV-PCIe Frame Grabber acquires and transfers complete image data directly into host memory while managing packet resend in hardware. This helps reduce system latency and improve data reliability in demanding high-bandwidth imaging applications.
The off-the-shelf PCIe solution simplifies system design compared with network interface card-based approaches, while maintaining the cabling flexibility, multicasting capabilities, and interoperability advantages of GigE Vision. The frame grabber is supported by Pleora’s eBUS SDK and provides access to connected cameras’ GenICam XML files for device control, configuration, diagnostics, and image reception statistics.
