Pleora’s eBUS Tx provides a straightforward and cost-effective way to develop smart imaging and sensor devices for machine vision and Internet of Things (IoT) applications.

New IoT applications integrating numerous image and data sources pose bandwidth and networking challenges. To help solve the bandwidth crunch smart devices – including compact sensors and embedded processing boards that bypasses a traditional camera – can process data and make decisions at the edge of the inspection network.

Smart devices receive and process data and make a decision. By converting all sensors into GigE Vision compliant devices, data can be sent to other devices and local or cloud-based processing. Local decision-making significantly reduces the amount of data required to be transmitted back to a central processor. This lowers bandwidth demands while reserving centralized processing power for more complex analysis tasks. The compact devices also allow intelligence to be placed at various points within the network.

eBUS Tx is a software-only approach to implement a full device level GigE Vision transmitter. The simple to implement solution turns the sensor into a fully compliant GigE Vision device that supports image transmission and enables the device to respond to control requests from a host controller. eBUS Tx is GigE Vision and GenICam compliant, meaning end-users can use any standards-compliant third-party image processing system.
