iPORT™ Connectivity Solution
All elements of Pleora's iPORT solution work as an integrated whole to enhance GigE-based, camera-to-PC connections. The solution delivers consistent, end-to-end latencies of typically less than 500 microseconds and guarantees the delivery of every packet.
The iPORT Connectivity Solution streams imaging or video data in real time over off-the-shelf GigE equipment. The iPORT IP Engines efficiently convert the data to IP packets, queue it for transport, and pump it onto the GigE link, all at the full, 1-Gb/s line rate. Packets are transported continuously to PC memory with the low, predictable end-to-end latency (or delay) needed for high-quality imaging and video applications. Pleora's innovative zero-loss packet resend technology ensures all acquired image data arrives safely at the PC. Data is never lost.

The Pleora iPORT Connectivity Solution has four key components.
-
An iPORT IP Engine converts video data into IP packets for GigE transport to PCs, and provides serial or parallel control channels for input to cameras and other equipment. The purpose-built hardware in the engine uses no embedded OS, improving performance and easing in-camera integration. Pleora's iPORT engines interface natively to almost any analog or digital image data, and can be easily targeted to other data types. To find out more about Pleora's IP engines, click here.

The eBUS Driver Suite includes drivers that route data efficiently into PC memory, minimizing CPU usage so the computer can simultaneously process image data. All three drivers below are included in the eBUS Driver Suite:
- The eBUS Universal Driver – ideal for most real-time vision applications. It runs on almost any vendor's NIC, handles all IP transport protocols – including ordinary network traffic AND GigE Vision and iPORT transport protocols – and uses less CPU than a filter driver.
- The eBUS Optimal Driver – ideal for applications with very heavy processing overhead. It runs on Intel's PRO/1000 family of NICs, handles all IP transport protocols – including ordinary network traffic AND GigE Vision and iPORT transport protocols – and delivers the lowest CPU load in the industry
- The iPORT High-Performance IP Device Driver – recommended for existing customers who are running demanding real-time applications using the iPORT protocol. It runs on a standard GigE network interface card/chip (NIC) from Intel's PRO/1000 Series.
- eBUS Driver Installation Tool – lets you easily choose the driver that best suits your needs.
- eBUS Documentation – the eBUS QuickStart Guide helps you get up to speed quickly, while advanced configuration documentation provides in-depth reference material for advanced users.
- The iPORT PureGEV Suite and iPORT Vision Suite let you quickly and easily build your custom vision application. Sample application source code and executables provide working applications for functions like device configuration and control, image and data acquisition, and image display and diagnostics. The iPORT PureGEV Suite is fully compatible with the GigE Vision and GenICam standards.
The iPORT PureGEV Suite and iPORT Vision Suite include:
- iPORT Coyote/GEVPlayer – powerful and versatile image capture applications that let you quickly configure your iPORT IP Engine and begin capturing images with your PC
- iPORT Vision SDK/iPORT PureGEV SDK – The rugged, well-tested, feature-rich C++ classes and methods that let you get your camera's images to your PC – seamlessly
- iPORT Software Tools – small applets that helps speed up your development cycle
- iPORT Documentation – the iPORT QuickStart Guide helps you get up to speed quickly, while advanced configuration documentation and extensive hardware guides provide in-depth reference material for advanced users
- Pleora's iPORT AutoGEV is an ingenious mapping tool that makes it fast and easy for camera and system manufacturers to gain compliance for any GigE camera or OEM system that uses Pleora's iPORT IP Engines. For more information on AutoGEV, click here.
