iPORT™ NTx-GigE Intellectual Property (IP) is a package of tools, reference designs, and expert design services that allows system and camera manufacturers to fully integrate Pleora's NTx-GigE Embedded Video Interface.

With the NTx-GigE Intellectual Property, manufacturers can enjoy significant levels of design flexibility with field-proven technology, while shortening time-to-market, reducing development and deployment risk, and lowering design and system costs.

Products produced with the NTx-GigE Intellectual Property interact seamlessly with Pleora's other products in networked or point-to-point digital video systems. Moreover, they comply fully with the GigE Vision® and GenICam™ standards, allowing them to interoperate with third-party equipment in multi-vendor environments.

Customized Hardware

The iPORT NTx-GigE Hardware Reference Design allows manufacturers to develop customized hardware based on the design of Pleora's iPORT NTx-GigE Embedded Video Interface hardware. The customized hardware can be paired with Pleora's off-the-shelf FPGA load, or with a customized FPGA load created with the iPORT NTx-GigE IP Core Package.

By integrating the NTx-GigE Intellectual Property, manufacturers can optimize boards to meet unique system or camera form factors and optimize for extended temperature, and meet enhanced shock and vibration requirements.

Pleora's engineering team has extensive experience in high-speed Ethernet-based designs, and helps to ensure the highest first-pass quality of your interface by providing in-depth analyses of your board designs, schematics, layouts, and component selections to ensure optimal EMI/EMC, power, heat, and performance characteristics.

The iPORT NTx-GigE Hardware Reference Design contains:

  • Schematics and sample layout files for a GigE Vision compliant video interface;
  • Standard main FPGA load, as well as a backup load to help ensure device reliability;
  • Bill of Materials with key extended temperature components;
  • Component obsolescence management; and
  • Documentation.

Customized FPGA Load

The iPORT NTx-GigE IP Core Package allows manufacturers to reduce overall system costs by creating Altera Cyclone V or Xilinx 7-Series FPGA loads which fully integrate their logic with Pleora's iPORT NTx-GigE IP core. This FPGA load can be paired with custom hardware developed with the iPORT NTx-GigE Hardware Reference Design.

Pleora’s IP core platform increases flexibility and reduces costs for manufacturers by providing a straightforward design path to integrate their logic with the iPORT NTx-GigE IP Core in a custom FPGA load. Designers can then utilize a single FPGA to perform pixel correction, color space conversion, and other specialized analysis tasks as well as incorporating GigE Vision functionality. Integrating multiple functions into a single FPGA results in electronics with reduced power consumption, heat generation, footprint, and component costs.

The iPORT NTx-GigE IP Core Package contains:

  • Pleora's encrypted IP core for a GigE Vision compliant video interface
  • Quartus II or Vivado project files
  • Top-level FPGA interconnect
  • Qsys or IPI systems
  • A Gigabit Ethernet Media Access Controller (MAC); and
  • Device configuration scripts, which facilitate automation of the programming process during production.
