Pleora Technologies appoints Rob Lee as Vice-President, Marketing and Sales
- Experienced executive to play leadership role in next phase of company’s growth
OTTAWA, CANADA, June 22, 2009: Pleora Technologies, a world leader in video connectivity solutions for mission-critical systems, today announced the appointment of Rob Lee to the position of Vice-President, Marketing and Sales. Lee is responsible for establishing the marketing and sales strategies, processes, and support systems required to take Pleora through its next major growth phase.
“We see substantial growth ahead of us as we expand business with existing customers and aggressively pursue opportunities in strategic new markets,” said George Chamberlain, President, Pleora Technologies. “Rob’s proven track record of managing through growth while strengthening customer and channel relationships will play a vital role in Pleora’s success.”
Pleora has grown steadily since it unveiled the world’s first GigE (Gigabit Ethernet)-based video connectivity solution in 2002, and now supports a global customer base in a diverse set of medical, military, and manufacturing markets. Its end-to-end video connectivity solutions – which transport almost all formats of video and imaging data in real time cost-effectively over standard networks – are found in a wide range of deployments where performance and reliability are paramount.
“Pleora offers a number of world-leading video connectivity products, but what really differentiates us is our end-to-end solutions capability,” said Lee. “More and more, manufacturers and systems integrators are incorporating our solutions into their larger systems, rather than developing their own video connectivity technology, because they recognize our leadership in this niche market and our single-minded focus on advancing the technology. By leveraging our expertise, they can direct their energy and resources to their own strategic areas of competitive differentiation and core competence.”
“I’m looking forward to helping Pleora capitalize on the many opportunities that lie ahead,” continued Lee. “At Pleora, I’ve found a strong management team with a clear vision of where to take the company, supporting a highly-talented group that has the drive, focus, and expertise to keep us at the leading-edge.”
Prior to joining Pleora, Lee was a Vice President with the Security Solutions division of The Stanley Works, where he managed the development and delivery of RFID (radio frequency identification)-based security systems for patients and residents in institutional healthcare environments. He was a recipient of the 2005Ottawa Business Journal Forty Under 40 Award and holds an MSc in Engineering from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada.
